Today issues

Today I thought I would write about what’s been bugging me or making me happy the last couple of days. To start with, the bad things, Yesterday when organising my folders I found that a slideshow that was shown during one of my lectures last week has disappeared. I cant find it anywhere! What makes it even worse Is that I annotated all over it during the lecture! I can always print off another one but the fact that I annotated all over that one has now really pissed me off!

I’ve just got back from PE/Gym class, where we are shown how to teach it to 3-11 year olds! I hated PE as a child and so to be honest I hate it now. But I’m compelled to sit threw the lesson and even do the lesson as a child and he teach’s it! Often its fun but I still have the thought that everyone is watching me. I hate that thought, did they see some horrible part of my body? Did they just see a bit of my belly cause the t-shirt has ridden up? All these thoughts during a PR lesson. Why cant I just be happy with what I have got like so many other people around me? I have to say I’m not very active so its all my own fault that I feel this way BUT it really gets on my wick that I feel like this!

Good points – Well I really cant think of any. I have another 4 hours left yet today and its going to kill me (Bit of an overstatement!). Four hours of boredom! Bright side thought is 6 more hours and I get to leave campus and go home for the weekend ;)

Science Cluib! Round one to the boring!!

Well the first science club meeting went so well! NOT!!

Four children turned up!! FOUR!! For ease of the lesson, I thought lets do something about plants. So I decided on the celery experiment. This experiment is where you soak celery in dyed water so that the veins show up when you cut the celery up! A nice sumple experiment I thought to break them in and also it would incorporate the garden and plants outside durin the fine weather! This did not go down well, so I think I will have to now bring out the big guns early! Tomorrow we will begin the Volcano experiment! This project will help them understand about reactions and non-reversible reactions. How am I going to keep the students interested? By introducing a fun way to make a lot of mess!! Mess and science, fun and science. It’s a great mix if you want them to remember! Years from now in their exams and it ask them for an example of a non-reversible reaction they will hopefully think back to that fateful (and messy) day they blew up a volcano with red food due, washing up liquid and lots and lots of vinegar and bicarbonate of soda!

Lets just hope we don’t cause to much mess!!

Where is flatmate number 6?

During this week four flat mates and me have been waiting with baited breath about the arrival of flatmate number 6! Who will he be? What will his name be? Will he fit in? All these questions need to be answered.

Its now nearly 6pm on Sunday, with lectures starting tomorrow for most subject will this new person have time to fit in. Our cleaner informs us that she calls him ‘the chief’ because she cannot pronounce his name. I’m really hoping that I will be able to say it.

So in the flat we have (From now on flat mates will be given numbers (no names mentioned here)) flat mate 1, who is on the same course as me and was in my group last year. A lovely lady who seems caring and relaxed and knows what she is doing. We have flat mate 2 who is also on my course, though from a different group. She is out going and fun. Flat mate 3 is also a woman. From my flat last year, I think I know this woman well. She is always (99%) game for going out and having a good time. Though she might go out a lot, she is also very committed to her work. Flat mate 4, that’s me!!! Flat mate 5 is a fresher and funnily enough has just started the course I’m in the 2nd year of. He is a mature student (Like me) and seems to know what he wants. I think he is also quite brave as he is the only 1st year in this flat!

What do you think flat mate 6 will be like?
