Lapland 2006 Hoilday Extraordinary

Well it was longer than I said but I’m now finally able to sit down a quickly write something about my travels. I see on the ‘I hate my flat mate’ blog that they too have been travelling and I have to say their holiday sounds a lot better than mine. I’ve just downloaded 11 photos to go with this blog, I hope they all make it through and into this blog. So here is my holiday. After a 2 and a half hour flight we went to the train station and spent 12 hours on a sleeper train to arrive in Lapland. The B&B fucked up our booking so they put us up in a hotel at their expense. We looked around the town and at all the shops. The next day we went on a snow mobile safari and it was excellent!! We drove our snow mobile for an hour to get to a reindeer farm. There we had a reindeer sleigh ride followed by an artic circle ceremony. So its official I now have a reindeer driving licence and I’m the first Fox in my family to enter the Artic circle! The nest day we went to Santa village, yes where the real Santa lives and works. My friend queued for 2 hours to get a photo with him but I could not be bothered and spent my time looking around at all the stuff and the shops. It was great!!!

One disappointment was that I did not get to see the aurora which I so wanted to see, also I would of loved to fit in more things.

Anyway I would recommend to anyone to get their butts out there and have some snowy fun!!
